1) What can Smart Lipo do for me?
Smart Lipo is aimed at people who are of an average weight, and not excessively overweight or obese. The treatment is best used for targeting specific areas of stubborn fat, most commonly; Love handles, Thighs, hips, bottoms, upper arms, double chins and the tummy. The treatment will be succesful virtually anywhere and everybody has different ares which they will want to improve.

2) How long does the Smart Lipo procedure take?
The Smart Lipo procedure generally takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the treatment area. Post Procedure you will be be kept at the centre for about an hour, before returning home. A compression garment will then be worn for a couple of days (up to a week depending on treatment).

3) Will the results be immediate?
Patients start to see improvements within a few weeks, Skin will return to normal after a couple of months and the full benefit of the procedure is usually achieved in up to 4 months. Many patients report that improvements continue for up to a year. The reason for continuous results is that the liquified fat will take some tme to drain away from the treatment area.

4) How many treatments are required?
A single treatment is all that is required for most patients. Patients with a larger treatment area may however require more than one treatment session. Dr Borkowitz will determine this during the consultation.

5) Does Smart Lipo hurt?
Using the latest technology, the smallest of incisions and only the use of a local anaesthetic, bruising and a recovery period are kept to a minimum. Very few patients will need more than an occasional mild painkiller during the recovery period. The recovery for this procedure is usually incredibly quick and most patients will be able to return to work, and their regular activities the following day.

6) Will Smart Lipo cause scarring?
A tiny incision is made in the skin which may result in the smallest of scars. Bruising and swelling will reduce within a couple of months and the treatment area will appear firmer and smoother.

7) Will the results of Smart Lipo be long-term?
Yes. Results can continue to appear for up to a year. The treatment area will have reduced fat cells and therefore future wight gain will be greatly reduced in that area.
