What is Laser Hair Removal?

How it works
Highly controlled flashes of light energy are selectively absorbed by hair-filled follicles. The melanin absorbs the light, heats the hair shaft damaging hair regrowth but not the surrounding skin.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments a particular patient requires will vary due to a variety of factors including hair density, colour of skin and hair, and on location of hair on the body. Your clinician will be in a better position to give you an accurate assessment.
Are the treatments painful?
The laser hair removal treatment is not painful however there is a slight discomfort usually described by patients as a sting or a snap of a rubber band.
Are there different types of laser hair removal treatments
Yes there is and the quality of the machine makes a tremendous difference in the result that you will see. Some lasers do not work well on light hair and therefore one will have to have multiple treatments with very little results.
